Quality Control Department
Quality control is an essential operation of the ayurvedic pharmaceutical industry. Quality control is the part of GMP concerned with sampling, specification, testing within the organization, documentation, and the release of products, ensuring that the necessary and relevant tests are carried out and that materials are not released for sale until their quality has been observed to be satisfactory.
The QC department is equipped to test the quality of incoming material, in process material and finished goods the quality standard parameters and analytical procedures prescribed by the Bureau of Indian Standards and the Ayurvedic Pharmacopoeia of the Government of India are used for the purpose. QC ensure the incoming materials are received from supplier are confirms to the above reference and approval for medicine production. Those items which fail the confirmation are rejected.
The standard parameters and analytical procedures prescribed in the Pharmacopoeial Standards for Ayurvedic Formulations of the Government of India are used for the testing of in processed material and finished goods. The quality certificate issued from the QA Department forms a part of the Batch Manufacturing Record of each batch of medicine. This procedure is an inherent aspect of the Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) followed in the production units.
The organoleptic characteristics of the finished products are ascertained by the expert physicians of the QC. Thus, the quality of the medicines produced by EAVS is ensured by GOOD QUALITY MEDICINE
RAW MATERIALS
The quality of our finished products depends greatly on the quality of the raw materials we use. Purchase orders to suppliers are issued only after their samples pass our quality evaluation.
We strictly follow the standards set by API, the Bureau of Indian Standards, and our own in-house protocols for testing and approving all raw materials.
Ayurvedic system of medicine is as old as the Vedic age. Nowadays people give preference to Ayurveda. Various types of classical as and proprietary drugs are prepared in the Ayurvedic industry. A massive number of raw materials are engaged for the manufacturing of such medicines, namely Plant origin (Herbs, shrubs, and all parts of plants etc..). Animal origin (Animal by products like ghee, Milk, honey etc..), metal & mineral origin(gold, silver, salts etc.) and other items like packing materials & excipients etc. Acquiring these items in the desired quality and required quantity is a major job. But we have a group of herb collectors who collect fresh herbs entirely for EAVS who have been experienced for generations. These materials are sourced locally and from suppliers throughout India.
The quality of our finished products depends greatly on the quality of the raw materials we use. Purchase orders to suppliers are issued only after their samples pass our quality evaluation. We strictly follow the standards set by API, the Bureau of Indian Standards, and our own in-house protocols for testing and approving all raw materials.
After the approvel, the materials are entered in the accepted area of raw material section and used for the preparation of medicine after respective pre processing techniques like cleaning, cutting, chopping ,drying etc.. mentioned in the manufacturing record .
